Yesterday was Nancy, 5 RFT:

-400m run (500m row)
-15 OHS (95#/65#)

16-minute time cap

I ignored the time cap, as usual, and got 16:45, slower than my last two.

Slow-ish Nancy-ish

Today was supposed to be three rounds of heavy Nancy:

-400m run (500m row)
-15 OHS (135#/95#)

I did it at the normal Nancy weight of 65#. I did it unbroken in 10:11, which sadly did not put me on pace that would have PR’d a real Nancy-on-a-Boat (16:08).

Big Weight Saturday Plus Nancy PR

Saturday was a big weightlifting day, starting with 5×1 FS:

Then came the clean complex, which was:

-Hang clean
-High hang clean

I managed 135#, but if I’m honest, the second one was really a muscle clean. Then came clean DL, 3×3 at 185#. Last was 6xME pull-ups with one minute rest, and I got 4-3-2-2-2-2, 15, which is pretty normal for me. I finished with Nancy-on-a-Boat, 5 RFT:

-500m row
-15 OHS (95#/65#)

I did the OHS unbroken, which I also did last time, a year ago, and got 16:08, a 42-second PR, so that was good. I forgot how hard this WoD was.

Huge Nancy PR

Yesterday was Nancy, 5 RFT:

-400m run (500m row)
-15 OHS (95#/65#)

Last time we did it was at the end of September of last year, and I did the same scaling and got 21:20. Today I got 16:50, a 4 1/2 minute PR! I strategized this time around in two ways: I tried to keep my pace around 2:00/500m, even on the first round, which worked most of the time, as well as keeping my stroke rate <27. I also managed all the OHS unbroken, even though it meant a slightly longer rest before picking up the bar. Anyway, it seemed to work well.

Moment of truth

So, I think my double unders have left me forever. Or so it seemed yesterday. We did Indoor Nancy, 5 RFT:

-50 DU
-15 OHS (95#/65#)

15 minute time cap.

I got 3 rounds, 11. Pretty abysmal. I couldn’t get even one double under sometimes. I used to be good at these, so I don’t know what’s going on.

What went well: Well, I did get every OHS unbroken, mostly because I was getting, like, four minutes of rest between sets.

What needs improvement: Double unders, apparently. I can do them in practice, but not in a WoD, for some reason.

Finished with the push-up test at the end of the progression and got 24, which is a 41% increase since starting the progression, so I have to consider that a win.

Drowning Nancy

Saturday was Nancy, which is 5 RFT:

-400m run (500m row for me)
-15 OHS 95#/65#

I finished in 21:20, the slowest in class, BUT on days that I row instead of run, I always wonder which is harder in a WoD with OHS, running between, which taxes your legs, or rowing, which taxes everything. I want someone who can run, and who knows what their Nancy time is, to try it with a 500m row and tell me which one is harder, because I hate to compare when it’s not exactly the same WoD.
