Back Squat/Abs

Am probably going to do Strongman on Saturday, although I haven’t been training for it whatsoever. That said, I decided to take it sort of easy today (tomorrow too) and do back squats:

45×5
115×3
135×3
145×3
155×3
165×3
175×3

And do three sets of 10 20kg sit-ups. Scott at the gym thinks that I will win Strongman, especially after hearing that I flipped the tire 100x yesterday. I like that he has confidence in me, but I’m not getting my hopes up. First, I haven’t trained for it at all. Second, it’s offset by body weight and I am probably going to be one of the heaviest if not the heaviest girl there. Third, the log clean and press makes me acutely nervous because I’ve never done it before. So, I’m really just going for fun. If I win, cool, if not, that’s OK too.

I’ve been meaning to update, but have been out of the habit lately. I’ve been trying to get into Crossfit more, but my metcon has been really lousy and I need to start doing it habitually also. Here’s what I’ve been doing lately.

Presses:

10! 30# DB snatch and push-up: 8:05 (sucks…last time was 7:07)

Competition WOD #2, scaled for 3x singles:

-180 Singles

Time: 7:21, well under half what I get for this WOD as Rx’d. As Rx’d is miserable and I hate it. I suppose I’ll eventually have to work back up into it, but I’m not looking forward to it at all.

If I just go up by 20#, it’s not all that bad. I can do it, and that’s what I tell myself. Finished off with 100 un-timed tire flips.

Front Squat/Press

I have not been very motivated lately and today I was just dog tired and lethargic. I have also plateaued on all of my lifts because I haven’t been doing any weighted metcon lately. So, I did a 4×5 front squat:

After a fun-filled weekend of heat stroke, I took the last two days off completely from working out and came back today ready to go. I did a 5×5 front squat and a 5×3 press, both of which were sort of meh:

Skipped MMA today because of work and timing and everything. I can’t go 6 days a week any more because my body just can’t handle it, as much as it’s fun and awesome. So I did the 5×3 back squat today:

It was fine. Not bad, just fine.
