Five-Round Hansen For Time/PRs
It’s going to be a sad week when I stop getting at least one PR. I’ve heard that happens as you get better, and that frequent, multiple PRs are a sign that you are a noob. I don’t care; I love ‘em; I’m going to miss ‘em when they start being more widely spaced.
Needless to say, I had a great day today. Here it is, by the numbers:
1. 10 minutes on the elliptical.
2. Warm-up
3. Overhead squats, five rounds of five: (45)-70-75-75-75-75, grease the groove in between with pull-ups
4. Dead lifts: 5-5-3-3-3-1-1-1: 95-135-155-155-155-185-185-185 (new PR, now greater than my body weight)
5. Dips: 5-4-3-2-1 (five is also a new PR)
6. Five-round Hansen. Now that I can squeak out five rounds, I have started to benchmark it:
10 Burpees (30 is Rx’d)
30 1-pood kettle bell swings
30 Sit-ups
For time: 18:42
7. Handstands
Before I went to the gym, I went to Dick’s Sporting Goods to find a one-pood kettle bell. The one that they had was $79.99. Even with my $30 Rewards coupon, it was still fifty bucks, which is weird, because the one on their website is closer to fifty bucks even without the coupon. The shipping sucks though. I don’t know what I’m going to do…it’s burning a hole in my pocket.
